What Is the Difference Between a Phone Case and a Phone Cover?
The terms phone case and phone cover are often used interchangeably, which can make choosing the right option feel confusing. In simple terms, a phone case is a fitted, structured layer that snaps onto your phone to protect the back and sides.
A phone cover is a broader term that can include cases, but also refers to styles like flip covers or wallet designs that wrap around the entire phone, including the screen.
Phone Case vs Phone Cover: Which One Is Better for Everyday Use?
For most people, a phone case is the more practical everyday choice. It protects your phone from scratches, drops, and daily wear without getting in the way. While phone covers can offer more all-around protection, they tend to feel bulkier and less convenient. That’s why many customers look for something that balances protection with a slim, comfortable feel, something that fits easily into their routine.
Choosing Between Hard and Tough Phone Cases
When choosing a phone case, it often comes down to how much protection you need. From experience, most customers want something protective but not bulky. Hard phone cases are a great option for this because they’re lightweight, and in most cases offer enough protection for everyday use. Additionally they offer more choice when it comes to design, there are full print styles and clear cases with printed artwork, allowing your phone to be part of the final look.
You may also come across soft (TPU) cases, which are flexible and lightweight, but in my experience they don’t offer the same level of durability or long-term quality. They can be more prone to wear, stretching, yellowing or peeling off over time, which is why I personally do not to use them.
A much better option is the Tough phone cases, which are ideal if you tend to be a bit more clumsy or want extra peace of mind. With a dual-layer build, they provide added durability while also having a slightly more premium, accessory-like feel.
Why Design Matters More Than You Think
When I create my designs, I always have the product in mind. Not every design works the well across both case types, at least in my opinion, which is why you won’t see every artwork available on both. However, the aim is always the same to create something bright, colourful, and that feels personal. Whether it reflects your love for cats, dogs, flowers, or simply adds a bit of colour to your day, your phone case should feel like more than just protection- it should feel like yours.
