Will a MacBook Air Case Fit a MacBook Pro?

When ordering a new MacBook case it is important to make sure you choose the correct model, not just the screen size because each MacBook model has slight differences in dimensions.
While some models share the same outer body within the same line, for example, a MacBook Pro 14” M1 and MacBook Pro 14” M4 use the same case because the chassis design hasn’t changed, but most models require their own specific case.

A MacBook Air case will definitely not fit a MacBook Pro, even if they’re both with 13” screens. MacBook models differ in thickness, edge shape, and overall dimensions, a 13” MacBook Air and a 13” MacBook Pro may sound interchangeable, but physically they are built differently.

Why Checking Your MacBook Model Number Matters?

I once had a customer message me saying their case “didn’t fit.” When they sent a photo, it became clear straight away that they had ordered the wrong model. They assumed that because their laptop was 13”, it would automatically fit. But without checking the exact model number on the underside of the MacBook, the case simply won't be of any use.

How to check your MacBook Model?

It’s a common and completely understandable mistake. Before ordering a MacBook case, always check the model number. An easy way to do that is to look at the back of your laptop for teh model number(it starts with an “A” followed by four numbers) and match it to the options available. It only takes a moment but it saves the frustration of a case that doesn't fit and time and money to replace it.
